Good news about nuking gun owners is you'd have to nuke a bunch of lib-tards also. Since I don't like ANY libtard and I also don't like some gun owners, I'd be all for nuking us. It'd be a net gain IMO. It'd be better than dying of something lame like getting run over by a beige 1992 Camry XLE

I am not so sure the US military personnel would be on board with taking rights from people, the same rights they themselves would want to keep after getting out of the service.

The rights they fought for and many times became disabled for. I'd like to think they're overwhelmingly conservative.

Speaking of CA, I was shocked to see it is legal to own a FN 5.7, with SS198LF ammo it is truly a threat to LE's as it can defeat body armor.

I looked up CA carry permit requirements again after reading about the recent San Bernardino shooting, where a homeowner who walked an elderly woman neighbor back to her home was gunned down by burglars. I wondered if his county sheriff issued carry permits, because I think he was dumb not to have one if the sheriff did. I think the sheriff supports carry (someone who lives there would need to tell me). Anyway, on the CCW application it states you can't have an FN 5.7 listed on your carry permit. So they're great but I would want to be able carry it. Florida has no such restrictions but the damn thing is so heavy.

Just heard the Socialist State of New York is considering requiring you to submit the last 3 years of your social media history when you go to get your permit to purchase.

Just another way for Adolf Cuomo to make it harder for people to defend themselves from his tyranny.

Anybody else hop on the Blazer Black Pack BF deal from academy? After the rebate, down to 13 cents a round of 9mm range ammo.

Man, this one is tough for me. The reason being is that most mass shooters send out tons of red flags on social media prior to committing a crime. However, I realize that the definition of a "red flag" is fluid and can be contorted to include many things that trust-worthy people might say online. In the current political climate, it'd just be another tool for gun-grabbers.

I would prefer to see social media scraping used at public schools. I truly believe that public schools should go full-on China dystopia with CCTV covering every angle of the school grounds, in which every student is submitted to facial recognition and followed on campus by AI. Anyone not in the recognition database gets red-flagged and contacted by security, and the AI would scan social media for students who act-out online and have school reps pull the students aside when they threaten people online. It can all be done by software.
Oh, and they could take down all the stupid "Gun Free Zone" signs, because yeah those really stop criminals!

In the adult world, we don't need more gun laws, just fully prosecute criminals. Vast majority of gun crimes are committed by repeat offenders who are in illegal possession of a firearm. I truly believe letting out repeat offenders (especially those with a thing for gun crimes) is just a tool used to justify restricting law-abiding owners. Only places that need increased control might be schools as this is where the killers are most likely to be 1st timers.

It would be just another back door to get closer to further restrictions....like a frog boiling in water....don't notice at first and then it becomes a snowball.

All schools need to do is to keep every outer door secured, make everyone walk through an arch, and put their belongings through an x-ray machine. Just like at the airport and every courthouse in the country. But the liberals want to take away your guns instead.

That's the argument you'll get every time from them. If it doesn't 100% agree with their agenda, they'll make an excuse and cry until they get their way. I don't see anybody with issues about it at airports, I don' see an issue with it being at schools. Yes, I understand that these kinds of things "shouldn't happen at schools" but the reality is they do. And taking guns isn't the solution. People will start making bombs or starting acid attacks or stabbings like the ones that happen overseas all the time.

There are plenty of unemployed veterans who I'm sure would be happy to take a job standing guard at schools, but schools don't want to employ them.

Last 3 music venues I have gone to have had you empty pockets and walk through and arch. No one complains ever.

The last concert we went to at a theater had them. The problem is they all have them now. We live where there's no entertainment except wildlife, so we need to drive 100 miles and stay overnight at a hotel. We didn't know they installed them at the time, so I needed to go all the way back to the hotel to secure my pistol. I never made it inside first, because when we arrived we seen a bunch of people being turned away. One was a county sheriff! He showed the rent-a-guard his I.D. and was told that unless he's on duty they didn't care, so he had to put his gun in his car. If there were an incident where we were assaulted by another patron (they serve alcohol) I would have sued the f-ing place for every cent we could get. To top it off, they have completely unarmed small rent-a-guards patrol the theater. The ones I seen couldn't fight off little old ladies let alone someone big and young. We haven't been back since. The main problem is parking is blocks away, and we're not going to walk back to our car at night defenseless. When we were younger my wife could kick anyone's ass, but she's too old now. :)

Liberals are so stupid. The reason I like to suggest AI recognition at schools is because I have lived in China for a few years, and guess what? Yup, no gun crimes but you wouldn't believe the frequency of kids being killed at school in China. Because of the culture in China (especially late 90's early 2000's) the most precious resource to most people was their single child. So, for some damned reason deranged mo-fos who knew how to build bombs (a-la suicide vest) or had swords would go into schools and hack up kids or blow them up. Dude, freaking hack kids to death with swords! F that, I'll take a bullet any day over that ish. And it was SURPRISINGLY FREQUENT, BECAUSE WHEN SOMEONE IS INTENT ON KILLING, THEY WILL DO IT!

AI recognition at schools would nearly eliminate school violence.
No need to grab guns.
No need for extra staffing.
Because it is tech driven, costs will come down to absurdly low levels.

Of course, solving problems isn't what liberals want. They want to take from the other half of society. Humans are twisted people, they always need to be a b1tc5 to others!
