Will it fit?

Stock suspension golf r, wheels are 19x8.5, et 45. currently running 235/35/19, and looking to go up to 245/40/19. Will it fit?

for those that wonder it will fit, however it will also rub... Maybe camber adjustment, or stiffer sway bar, or rolled fenders, or combination of all might make it work, but stock suspension will rub.

245/40 is waaaay too big. Maybe 245/35, but it'll be tight.

I think with 48-52 offset wheels they would have been fine, maybe even just stiffer springs.

That's over an inch taller than stock. Why would you do that?

larger sidewall, for comfort as well as to protect the wheels from daily commute in downtown.

That's when you step down to 18's. Then you can keep things within a reasonable margin of the same overall diameter.

I agree, however given the fact i do not have unlimited budget, that was not feasible.
