Stock 340mm Rotors Directional Vanes Issue

I read before the stock 340mm rotors have an issue with the directional vanes in which they're not mirrored properly. I don't remember exactly what the issue is but I think at the track, it may be a big deal? Do we know if VW ever fixed this? Or maybe the OE suppliers like ATE or Zimmermann?

Sorry for being so vague. Trying to find the thread and discussion where I read about this and only source I found is on Facebook in a local car group thus far. But I remember it was mentioned before in one of the millions of posts on this forum too.

I’m pretty sure stock rotor vanes radiate 90 degrees. Non directional. I think the rotor with the vanes facing the wrong way on one side of the car were the 2 piece semi floating Clubsport rotors.

* Edit: The OEM rotors have Pillar Vane design. See pics in next post....

Just checked on my take off 2019 OEM 340mm rotor. It’s actually not made of continuous channels. *There’s many routes for air to circulate through in a non directional configuration. As you can see, the red plastic straw can pass through unobstructed via three different paths, when started through the same outer hole.

*Edit: The term I was looking for is Pillar Vane design!

The Clubsport/Golf R PP/T-Roc R and TTRS/RS3 have co-casted rotor rings - the same casting is used on both sides and as such, since they are directional, one spins the other (wrong) way. Regardless, even if this is the case, it will still cool better than the same size rotor with pillar vanes.

Are you talking about the ttrs brake post on cw? Because that doesn't apply to stock 340mm rotors...

I thought I saw it somewhere before that it affected the stock rotors too. But guess not.
