Might be easier to get one of the gel cleaners that you toss out and run it around the finer points.

Um use a vacuum. Shift it into different gears to clean all around it. I keep a 1" paintbrush in my car and clean around it regularly before needing a vacuum cleaner.

The small paint brush works well around that area.
