Built Engine Options

Hi ll,

With APR and IE out of the game, what are the options for a reliable shop for a built engine, say for 600+HP? I would also consider a long block, with a re-worked head and everything assembled.

Why are options so limited?

FFE is your best bet. IE built engines are a joke.

Looking at FFE, I can't find a site that would have all the options available as a "kit". I guess I could always contact FFE directly. Thanks!

Lots of vw/audi shops out there that can build one, I'd ask around locally. Helps to work with someone experienced who can build to your needs (drag, street, road course) vs. one of those off the shelf built blocks.

OP, why don't you just source all the parts needed and find a local reputable VW/Audi indy shop that can build your engine?

I don't think I trust any local shops to do it (Ottawa/Ontario). Maybe Montréal or Toronto.

Sam had his engine built by Jay who used to work at Tapp auto, not sure where he is now

Yes, I know, but ideally, I would want a shop that has done dozens and dozens of these engines...
