What did you do to your mk7 today?

Installed Helix bypass jumper, 000-051-727B. I now get sound as soon as the radio starts... was running a time delay relay because my Helix likes to throw a fault on shut down that won't clear without removing ground to the DSP. Time delay relay works but it's annoying having wait 30+ seconds for sound anytime the speakers in the car turn off. Particularly if I'm driving without music playing (so the radio cuts speaker output) but using navigation, that 30 second delay means I miss audible directions.

But man alive, the Helix makes a big difference in how the car sounds. I guess we all knew that (and I even have the dealer demo on/off thing) but I had forgotten the difference. Anyway, ordering an Audio Control D-4.800 to replace the Helix and LC2i that I'm running now. Then I'll try my hand it tuning I guess.

On the mk7.5 - I swapped to some brisk er10s plugs, surprised that it idles much smoother than the IHK24s that have only been on the car 2000miles

Hi guys 👋 new MK7 owner

Collected a few bits and pieces over the last few weeks. Finally got to fit VWR springs, H&R spacers, APR coil packs, Scorpion downpipe, KSB front splitter and a few ebay cosmetic specials yesterday. More to come.

*Please excuse the Mini which decided, despite the entire empty car park, to park up 2 spaces from me… whilst I was taking a quick snap

Got my Performance Monitor back, so I can see how many PSI I'm using to go slow. In all honesty I use it regulate my right foot and keep my MPGeeeees up. The wife makes fun of me when I use the Think Blue Trainer 😂. She's also not a fan of my checking Energy Consumers to shine a light on the impact of her seat heater being at level 3.

And also, 2021 maps for my MIB 2.5. Shout out to @rrador and the guys at VAG Retrofit and Coding.

Got this in. Was a bit of a pain as the bolt initially wasn't catching onto the top of the mount. So, I put the bolt in till it caught, then the insert, then I took the bolt out and put the little black thing with the plate and it worked well.

Vibration at idle is pretty bad. Feels the same as the shudder when you're about to stall the car. Hopefully it breaks in. And if it doesn't, well, fuck it, it is what it is. I'll roll around with this for a week and then next week the engine and tranny mount goes in.

As a side project. I finished framing and insulating my basement.

Is that the hybrid bushing or just the mount insert? I'll let someone more knowledgeable than my chime in, but that doesn't look fully seated in to me, I don't recall mine 'poking' out that much (the full hybrid bushing).

Also, good luck taping and mudding the sheetrock. That is the part that's the bitch.

It's the insert. It can't go in further. Looks the same as on the Powerflex website. Tripped me up a bit as well.
.

Yeah I know man - did it once before. Took today and tomorrow off work - hoping to get it done in a couple of days. IT's one of those things, where you're not a professional ,so it takes you like eight times as long as it would a person that does this for a living.

15 hour day. Fell off a ladder on the goddamn concrete, stepped into the mudding bucket - twice - and inhaled probably and entire sheet of drywall cutting it all down and trying to make it fit. But, it's on its way. An honest man's work - done by a man that's not so much.
