2015 GTI 85k miles. Zero issues, then bam… crap idle and misfire. OBD11 says cyl 2 misfire and hide cylinder. Coil packs and plugs replaced, new fuel injectors installed, still misfiring… new manifold on the way. Any advice?

Diggs24. Cleaned the carbon. New intake manifold installed (last set of codes listed stuck open and stuck closed) Same misfire and fault code cyl 2 and hide cyl. Need to have compression test done.

Appointment Saturday with a mechanic. We will see! Fingers crossed it’s repairable and not a complete engine swap. Thanks

Did you get a compression test yet?

You'll see some damage to the cylinder walls.
Not always the case, have seen several from the EA888 engine builders group post clean cylinder wall pictures after teardown.

Edit: Went for a quick look for pictures but to lazy to get to the ones I was thinking of but this piston did apparently not damage the cylinder.
