Aftermarket wheels

Hi all, I have a 2021 golf mk8 and I'm looking to fit a set of aftermarket alloys however I'm not sure how this will effect the TPMS, does anyone know if the TPMS is direct or indirect and am I right in thinking if its indirect it won't be a problem, just a straight fit for the new wheels and a reset of the type pressure on the infotainment system.

The previous generation (mk7 / mk7.5) Golf has an indirect TPMS, as does the current (and previous generation) Polo, so I’m assuming the mk8 Golf’s TPMS will also be indirect.

I have aftermarket alloys on my 2020 Polo GTI+ and as you’ve said, it was just a case of resetting the stored tyre pressure values in the car settings via the infotainment screen when the new wheels were fitted.
