are modified older cars legal in Cali?

I have a 21 year old Eclipse GSX that has been sitting a while in NYC. The car passes emissions and equipment check just fine in New York. I've been thinking of bringing it out to SF. I know Cali has stricter emissions laws out here. Would I be able to register the car and have it pass emissions out here? or would I need to find a shop that looks the other way on modified vehicles?

The Eclipse has a turbo-back exhaust, aftermarket catalytic converter, intake, bigger turbo, FMIC, and lowered.

Smog checks for 1975 and later cars. Will it pass? Just because it has a cat doesn't mean it will.

The exhaust, intake, turbo and FMIC will all fail visual at any shop unless they are CA CARB legal, which I highly doubt.

Why not just bring it here anyway? Plenty of expired tags out there as well as obvious polluters. Not enough cops to go around I guess.

I’ve always passed smog with a intercooler I’m pretty sure that intercoolers are a free add in California and will pass I have before.
