Warranty hell? HahaIs not having 5.08 spec oil going to cause any issues, all else being equal? Doubt it.
Castrol works for me. I'm tuned, so already going to warranty hell anyway.

I thought amsoil didn’t officially certify for vw508?Amsoil and Castrol have full synthetic 508 oil.
It shows 508 oil on their website. Full synthetic.I thought amsoil didn’t officially certify for vw508?
I looked it up. It’s engineered for 508 but doesn’t carry the official certificationIt shows 508 oil on their website. Full synthetic.
Do they have to pay VW for certification?I looked it up. It’s engineered for 508 but doesn’t carry the official certification
I’ve no idea.Do they have to pay VW for certification?
It shouldn’t. From what I’ve gathered here and on YouTube engine clearances are the same. But the way the oil is delivered up and circulated, via the oil pump. That’s where the changes are.Can the newer GTI's still run a 5 weight? Thought I read some people switching back to a 5w-20/40 on the 0w GTIs.
I use it, I am not worried about warranty since I am tuned. It is green like it is suppose to be if that counts for anything lol.I looked it up. It’s engineered for 508 but doesn’t carry the official certification
That green stuff still trips me out LOLI use it, I am not worried about warranty since I am tuned. It is green like it is suppose to be if that counts for anything lol.
