Better downpipe options?

Another endorsement for IE, I've been very happy with mine. Sounds good paired with my stock car back, only a little smell when cold, none when warm.

I think if you are expecting a night and day difference, you might be disappointed though.

Should be enough to space to add a small resonator to the aft section of the IE downpipe?

Possible but the area is at an angle which is required.

Yeah, looks a little tight. But at least that section is a separate piece and looks to be removable with the rest of the DP in place and car on a lift, so that would make fabbing something up pretty straight forward. Thanks for the great pics.

At first I was annoyed by high part prices and was looking at MAP or something that was a good value, but I'm thinking it's worthwhile to pay for something with a thick cast upper section to keep noise/drone down. These new 4 bangers with integrated exhaust manifolds all sound like poo lol.

If you just want it to be quiet with a downpipe, replace the stock resonator with a Magnaflow. I put this in almost two years ago and the exhaust is as quiet as stock, just with a bit more bass and less treble. Unfortunately it also eats the DSG farts.
