Should be really easy to get 40mpg or more on a V8 truck or a muscle car. Just tow it with an EV and get ∞ mpg on your Hellcat. Don't spread this tip too far, or else the CIA will get ya.

That's also a fleet wide average. The manufacturers can have a car that gets less than 40 MPG as long as their fleet of cars averages 40 MPG. Same way it's been done since CAFE started.

I don't blame anyone. I will say though that the 83 GTI had 110 HP and gets the same MPG as the 22 GTI that has 241 HP. With today's engine technology if the 22 GTI still had 110 HP it would be capable of far higher MPG.

Forgot about the weight difference. If the 22 GTI weighed the same and still had 110 HP it would get over 50 MPG.

Yeah, I had a CRX Si, but the HF version was 1,800 pounds with a whopping 62hp and the window sticker was 50/56 mpg. I was always jealous of those numbers.
