no shit its slow haha

so i've been looking all over for a decently priced and good SUV for my wife, naturally we are leaning on wanting a tiguan, a q5, sq5, q7 or atlas.

With the cheapest options being around 17k with higher miles and ideally not too questionable conditions, i'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on anything.

then i brought up 'why not a mk7 gti, dsg' to the wife and she might be open. cause i can find those in the 13-15k range all day and she actually is pretty open to it.

still not sure though, sure the hatches have more space than a mk5 but not by much, and boy, every time the 3 of us go anywhere the baby stuff, stroller etc is a pretty fucking tight fit in the hatch.

Mk5 to mk7 is nearly the same hatch space no?
Ask UB, he has a tiggy, and I think it's done him well.

Road tripping to Nashville this weekend...
12hr 52min from start to finish.
I've done 10/11-hour days before, but I get the feeling that 13 is just going to be too much. Do I overnight somewhere on the way? Or just fucking send it and get a ton of sleep afterward?

I'd probably make that decision when you need to. When I had 22 hours of driving I could only go 10 hours that first day and its a good thing I stopped when I did. Then the next day I did 12 hours and it was no problem. You could probably do it, but be open to stopping early if you need to.

Make sure to get a Hattie B's hot chicken sandwich in Nashville

If I drive over 10-12 hrs next day I'm beat. I suggest 8-10 day one the next day short ride and you can still do stuff when you get there.
Fair enough.
If I leave at say 4 am, 13 hours later is 5 pm. Add 3 hours for gas, food, and stretching, which puts me at 8 pm which gives me a solid amount of time in case I need to stop more from just fatigue.
Splitting it into two days would make it quite easy and comfy, but I'd leave a day earlier and find some airbnb or hotel and drop some extra mo-nayyy.
