Yeah, the handlers call them GSD's on crack, but apparently, they lose their "I want to eat somebody" drive at about age 8 - which was part of the reason that the military instituted a mandatory retirement age.
Mine has snapped at my face a few times. It's crazy how close she can get without touching or biting me. She just gets so amped up sometimes, it's not out of aggression or anything like that. The snapping or teeth chattering is a pretty funny trait of theirs.
