Driving in New Zealand

Have a trip planned for the north island over Thanksgiving. Any pro tips on driving there other than to remember to stay on the left side of the road? I don't have a ton of experience driving in other countries since most of our vacations have been to Europe where we would just bus or train around. NZ seems to be more of a DIY as far as transportation goes haha. I've watched a couple of videos on YouTube, and everything seems to be pretty straightforward, but figured I would ask here as well. Thanks in advance!

How to yield is tricky. It was a traffic circle that was terrifying for me, my friends and about a half-dozen other drivers in Jamaica.

New Zealand is tame compared to many other countries. Just stay on your side of the road and you'll be fine. And, yes, it's not like the USA where they spot you 10 over on the speed limits.

Make sure to get a fun rental car. Sixt says they have Golf R's at Auckland Airport.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, it doesn't look too bad. Their yield signs are a bit odd. Apparently, you have to pay attention to if you're the big arrow or little arrow, especially when crossing single lane bridges haha.

All I think of when you say "driving in new zealand"

This isn't far off. Our Hertz rental says a "Suzuki Swift or similar" haha.
Last trip I had a Toyota Corolla hatchback, which wasn't too bad once I turned off the overly aggressive lane centering, which doesn't like hitting the apexes if they're beyond the white line. The prior trip I had a not-for-USA Ford Escort.
