Golf Mark 8 headlights driving in France

Hi all,

I have a VW Golf Mark 8 Active with LED headlights and am about to drive it to France on holiday. Am wondering if I need to attach headlight adapters, or if they are OK for driving on the right without them? Page 96 of the manual says "the headlight alignment of vehicles with this equipment (advanced main-beam control or dynamic cornering light) can be adjusted in the infotainment system. Adjustment of the headlights is not necessary on vehicles without advanced main-beam control or dynamic cornering light.". My car has neither (I think!), so does the wording "adjustment of the headlights is not necessary....." also mean that headlight adapters are not necessary? (It does also have the alignment adjustment facility in the info system). Am a bit confused (easily done!).

Thanks for any guidance.

Vehicles with dynamic headlights need to activate travel mode if driving on the opposite side of the road, if you dont have headlights with dynamic light assist though, it looks like you don’t need to do anything. Sounds odd to me however, so I’d check to see if it’s in the menu.

Thanks. Yep it is in the menu, although strangely my car doesn't have dynamic headlights. Am tempted to just put the headlight adapters on to be on the safe side. Cheers.
