I've read way too many Reddit threads on these things lately and just can't come to a conclusion. I'd like to make up my mind before any major Black Friday deals drop. Considering the Legion Go and Ally X on the handhelds side, but then also considering just a 14" laptop with some flavor of RTX GPU for a few hundred more that I could technically use to work on the go with as well. Any input or firsthand experience is welcome!

Steam Deck is great. It can run demanding games like Cyberpunk, GTA and Elden Ring on the go. Or I can connect it to my PC via WiFi and stream games from the computer in my office to my TV upstairs in the living room, or even when I'm across town at my girl's place.

Also works great as an emulator if you're into that, I've loaded it up with Nintendo and PlayStation roms. Even has a desktop mode which lets you use it as a Linux laptop. The best all rounder imo. Some complain it's too big/heavy but I never had that problem so those people are just 🐈's lol 😉

Most of my library is wrapped up in Epic's store. I know people have loaded that launcher on Steam Decks, but I've heard it's kind of a pain haha.

Not in my experience... just download Lutris (in desktop mode) and install Epic Games Store on it - done. There's youtube videos that will guide you through the entire process if you encounter any hiccups.

I've also used Battle.net games and GeForce Now without issues

I have an OLED switch and various emulators on my PC and phone for whatever I need.
We have the updated Switch with better battery that isn't supposed to run as hot (the one between the original and OLED) and it's great. My conundrum is a lot of the games I want to play currently are sitting in my Epic Games account, but don't want to sit at a PC to play them.
