Something odd happened the other day. When I started the car it displayed a notification about loss of internet connection. Since then the globe icon has been grey instead of the usual white. I’ve tried rebooting the system but no change

I think it's just when the VW server can't be reached. Happened to me yesterday.

I have done a very brief google and it would appear that the servers are down, as mine was the same this morning. The app seems to think my car has not moved since Wednesday, which is technically true, as until this morning I had not driven anywhere, but I drove to work this morning, and the car is still showing as at home. Some of the posts I have seen have said it can last for a few minutes up to a few days. It just depends what is going on I guess.

Ahh, if it's happening to other people I'm not as concerned. I have seen the globe grey before but never had the notification. I was worried that a module had failed or something

I have had this couple times for now.
I think that is a new feature. Never saw that before update to 1985.

Everything back to normal after visit food market.

I had a strange experience with my infotainment system this morning, about 10 minutes into my journey it started saying "cannot call emergency number" (or something like that) and was constantly cycling through random menus.

I pulled over, turned off, got out, locked, unlocked, got back in, no change, car drove fine so continued my journey whilst it cycled through menus, another 5 minutes and it all stopped and has been fine since!

I'm still convinced that my eTSI isn't coasting as much as it used to prior to the 1985 update. It seems to work fine on slower roads but as soon as I get onto major A roads it just idles instead. Maybe they've changed the criteria/algorithm for it. Updating the maps doesn't seem to have made any difference

The likelyhood is that you may now be focusing on it too much, and are picking up on any variations that wouldn’t normally be noticed. ?‍

The latest is 1985 it should update itself from the online.
You must have main user and active we connect (free) account.
Privacy settings share location.

It takes 1-2 weeks and you will get note about downloading update

I mean 1985 was the last one

Mine was: 5H0035820E, H56 and sw1803 when it came from factory at 2021.
It updated to 1890 by vw, after that it got a first OTA update to 1896.
The second online update was 1941
