I don't have obdeleven. I might've spoken to soon, but it seems that it still happens. Although it only happened once in an 1-hour drive.

Have anyone been able to get rid of the jerky downshift with OTA / Field updates or any other fixes that would have been carried out (gearbox reset etc.)? I'm on 1896 still and having this issue.
Yes...same here. 1896 update. Oficial statement from VW - they work on it with new software update. Not yet received.

I am also now on 1899. It is my impression that the jerky breaking is still the same.
I managed to get photos of the (very sketchy) release notes.

I installed the update just last wednesday 25th of January.
First I checked if the car still jerked, and it did.
Then I installed the update, all went well.
Then checked if jerking was still there, it is, but it seems to happen less often, and it is less noticeable. So it seems. I don’t drive the car daily, so need to make some more miles before I can tell how much of a difference it makes.

When I saw the remark of @tos “Infotainment update will not help”, I thought probably this update wouldn’t make any difference, because the update only involves changes to the Infotainment System. But that said, then why started the jerking (in my case) after installing the updates that came with CU91 and 90S8? The dealer told me that those updates also didn’t have to do anything with engine or gearbox management.
So, still doesn’t make sense, and it all raises question marks...

PS: I came from 1896 going to 1899.

I installed the update just last wednesday 25th of January.
First I checked if the car still jerked, and it did.
Then I installed the update, all went well.

Update: drove some more, jerky braking definitely still there. So no positive outcome for me.

If this list is a list of CU91 criterions, then in my case criterions 01, 02, 09 and 11 were applied.
Nowhere I see any remarks of engine control unit updates or gearbox control unit updates. It only says “various control units”.
So how do you know they talk about (the) engine control unit(s)?

Here is the list of modules that get updated with the 91CU recall:
So no Engine or Dsg updates…

Thank you, still, after applying 91CU and 90S8 the car started jerking under braking. So how did that happen? Coincidence? Or was it the 90S8?
Or may it have to do anything with the “brake electronics”, the “central electronics”, the “gateway”, or the “OCU”? Not sure what these Control units all do, but could some of them relate to the issues with jerking under braking? It’s really strange that VW introduces an issue with an update, but then need so long to remediate. It should be easy, since the issue was introduced by an update, so it seems, and not out of the blue without any straight cause.

I think in some other thread it was stated by VW that the jerking brake problem had to do with the regenerative braking system, so could be impacted under "brake electronics".

I got OTA update at yesterday, but installing stuck about 70%.
I lock the car and now it will not appear again? Normally it says something like "Software update complete"

Maybe this helps about rebooting problem?

How long it takes, when it shows up again? if press cancel update? I took fuse 19 away, and waited until green light of OCU turns off...
