No, on the Corsair H100

Did you have to go with the H100 to get to 5 GHz? I am planning a build in the next month or so using the same platform and my goal was 4.7 to 5.0 GHz and was going to give the Hyper 212+ a try (since I already have one). I was throwing around the idea of trying the H80 as well.

Nice cable management by the way.

Yeah, I had to move up. I was able to hit 4.8GHz on the Hyper 212+ running a push pull config with MX-2 paste. But temps were mid 80s under Prime blend.

I'm running 1.424v with mid to low 70s on a 6hr prime blend run. My room gets real hot so I haven't been able to push it further. It's perfectly stable for what I use it for. I'm extremely happy.

I may mod the H100 in a few months. Add a res and possibly a GPU block. The pump should be able to handle it.

Thanks. That's promising. I'm planning a build around a P67 Sabertooth and an i5-2500k. I can't decide on air or liquid. I know my 212+ is capable to at least get me to 4.5, but I want to use a windowed case and it takes up about half the window haha, where the liquid would look nicer.

Depending on your ambient temps, and how much vcore your chip will take, a 212+ SHOULD be able to handle AT LEAST 4.8GHz. I'm sure mine can handle my 5GHz, since under my normal load, it doesn't exceed 60c.

Now that I think of it. I may try it out once again and see how it does. Maybe put the H100 up for sale.

No pics yet, but:

Antec P193
Asus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 board
Intel i7 2600k
24 GB DDR3 1600
Seasonic 760w modular PSU
MSI GeForce 560 Ti
Antec Khuler 620 w/ additional 92mm PWM fan for "push" and factory thermal paste

Boot/Apps on 128 GB Crucial m4 SSD
Games on 1 TB
Data on 3x 2 TB in RAID 5

OC'd to 4.7 GHz at the moment, and I don't have a need/desire to go any higher. Runs under load at 64c or so and idles at 23c. I'm happy overall.

Here's a louzy pic:

some kinda jank stuff going on - i'm thinking I want to get a Lian Li case and some longer cables that I can tuck/route more neatly... and do away with the jank-ass 92mm fan suspended by a chain of zipties :)

Here's my marvelous machine in all of it's glory:

and of course a link to my wallpaper, heh:

why not put that enermax fan on the cpu cooler rad and the 92mm antec or whatever on the hdd bay... or whatever the enermax is blowing on. enermax fans come with long cables... at least mine do. i need to clean mine but i guess i should take a pic of my insides too. i dont feel like shrinking the image, so just click on THIS. its too big for forums imo

Well, the side 200mm fan would block anything that stuck out further than the radiator - I had to notch part out for just the radiator to fit. I actually use a Corsair 800D case now and their H100 cooler :) I'm pretty happy with it.
