Anyways, I troll slickdeals regularly i always see the deals from advance auto parts, but they aren't available to the west coast. so today i came across this $15 for 5qts. after rebate. this usually pops up every year on from walmart. deals good until the end of march, so if you want to wait for the oil to go from regular $26 to $22 then get the rebate, more power to ya $_$.

I think Wally World runs deals where a 5qt jug is 22 and change. Doubt they'd do that with a mail in rebate available though.

For those with GTI's, pretty sure most (if not ALL) use 0w-40 (says "European Car Formula" on the label also, and lists VW)

That's what I use, and what I'd recommend to anyone with our cars that wants to go the Mobil 1 route.

At Autozone/Pepboys/O'Riley's, this jug will sell for like $40. Lowest I've seen it at one of those stores is like $39.99, and that's IF you buy an oil filter along with the jug. Walmart's price is normally $28, which is really awesome, even without the rebate. With rebate, it's $16 (or even could be $10 if you're patient enough to wait for their annual sale coming up).

$26 total cost for a DIY oil change on a Mk6 GTI? Yes please.
