In all likelihood they pay for gas for a sample set of engines to make sure that the machining and assembly processes are working. No shot every single EA888 sees a loaded engine dyno.So you're saying the factory pays for gas to just break in your car when they trying to cut cost?
Piston rings break in very quickly and we have modern roller rocker camshafts. IMO after the first 100 miles or less, the break-in process has more to do with your diff and trans than the engine.
