Pleased to hear that we hadn’t put you off Golf 8 ownership considering all the issues you will/ have found on this forum

.I haven't really had any problems with My Golf R, it was delivered in June,. The only pia is the infotainment system, whereby apple car play overrides the radio if you have your phone on you. So i have to faff putting it back to radio.
Also lane assist, is there any way to have this permanently off?

No, you can’t turn off lane assist permanently. Each time I turn on the ignition I tap the button on the end of the left column stalk followed by tapping ‘OK’ button on the right of the steering wheel.
When I start a journey it’s a bit like being a pilot doing pre flight check (list of things I do available on request).

Is there an OBD app for altering the "Lane Assist Setting Memory" or do you have to long code it? I cannot seem to find the app.
