While digging around in my photo files I found these from Mid-Ohio. They are from the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Sept 2011. Shot with a Nikon D5100 & a 80-200 f2.8 lens...

Wow, those are excellent @1ashchuckton . I don't think I've ever seen real deal VW race cars. Color and composition are fantastic. Pan shots are tough and you nailed them as well. Super cool stuff for sure. Thanks for posting these.

Thanks PRR GG1. Races are the perfect place to hone one's panning skills. Now I have to try to do a pan of a CSX train at track speed.

I've been to a lot of races & those GTI's have been the only ones I've aimed a lens at, they were not common. Sure thought they were neat cars. At the time I was driving a MINI. Little did I know in four years I'd sell my MINI & buy my own GTI.

Yes mine is a two door. A good friend of mine bought one of the last two doors they made. He had to have a two door, because of his physical challenges. It was a 2015 SE. Tom has finished his race and I don't know where his car ended up. RIP
