Surely since the GTE appears to have all the bells and whistles it should include the winter pack? I think the last time I had a car without a low washer fluid warning was my Mini 1275GT. More decades ago than I care to admit!

Today you need to pay to have something that should be standard..
Checked the Uk VW price list and the Winter Pack is optional on all Golfs...
Also states that the low washer fluid warning light is part of the Winter package.

Many thanks for that Massimo2323. You are absolutely right! When it comes to VW one should never make assumptions. To be fair the only cars in stock at the time were bog standard ones with a choice of a few colours (went for Flipper err. err. Dolphin Grey) and I didn’t want to wait several months for delivery. That‘s what I like about Japanese and Korean cars. A model may be available in two or three versions but the only options are the choice of colour and mud-flaps!!!!
