Synchronisation not working.

MyVolkswagen App has not synchronised with my car for nearly 24 hours making much the information on it out of date. I have a phone signal on my iPhone and the car is parked where it always is. Currently it’s showing that it is still charging and currently has 13 miles of range. In fact it is unplugged and charged to 80% with nearly 50 miles of range. Is there a way on the App that I can request synchronisation.

I have the same issue. It seems there is some problem with the mobile communication. Looking in the vehicle settings it constantly says “cubic telecom (activating…)”

I tried the ‘synchronise now’ but still didn’t work. Next time I am in the car will check if the ‘globe’ is showing that there is a connection.

In my last Golf when the ‘free’ My Volkswagen expired I refused to pay the subscription. Turned out I easily lived without it. Interestingly in the Mk8 it was included for three years. In the Mk8.5 it is two years.

Check to see if the green light on the SOS button is on. If it is, the mobile connection is working.
The SOS function uses the eCall system, which has been mandatory on all new cars since 2018. The green light means it can find a network and make emergency calls, but that isn’t the same as a data connection which requires a subscription to a network carrier.

The green light is on, so there is nothing wrong with the modem or mobile network, but the SIM is failing to register with Cubic Telecom for data services.

Mine has come back to life again now.

Made a journey today. At my destination I checked my MyVolkswagen App and the latest journey details were available. Now I’m home the total journey is showing.

I guess the car had gone on strike and refused to ‘talk‘ to VW for 24 hours.

I have a love/hate relationship with modern technology.

Same here, the globe is greyed out and no connectivity from the app, also no streaming radio. This is the second time this has happened, just typical unreliable connectivity services from VW, it will probably come back after a few days.

Similar connectivity issues experienced by forum members on the Golf GTI forum and on the Seat / Cupra forum. So it seems it probably a VAG-wide server issue rather than one affecting just VW.

Interestingly mine isn't working today and having just put the car on charge the app doesn't even realise the cable is connected. Chatting to the advisor on the website they suggested it's a 'known issue' they are looking to resolve. Hmmm 🤔
