If the GTI and Golf R have the same engine, does tuning the GTI ecu pretty much make it the same as the Golf R? The US tuners don't seem to have numbers for the MK8 yet. Any euro tuners successfully remapped the MK8 yet? RaceChip?

Agree.

I personally really don’t like the slammed look at all - I think it looks awful; just my opinion though, and some will really like it but it’s not for me.

Brought my MK6 in for scheduled maintenance today. The dealer was recently bought out and under new management. My regular service guy is gone. I was nervous. Explained to the the new service manager that I am aware there is an ECM recall on my vehicle, but I am tuned so please DO NOT re-flash. He told me there wasn't a recall, even tho it showed it on his ipad thing. Again, asked them not to re-flash. Guess what they did? So I had to find my closest APR dealer, as the shop that originally did my tune does not exist anymore. I'll have to deal with a slow car until I can get to them on Monday.

It got me looking at APR again, as I plan on owning an MK8 when available in the US. Would like to get it tuned right away, so far no options here. Any of you Euro guys tuned yet? Pskoda do you have the HGP tune?

The other thing I noticed is that APR discontinued the Stage 2 tune for my MK6. It's always been on the back of my mind to get it done, but it's always had issues involved with emissions testing. I suppose APR didn't want the headache of misplaced anger anymore.
