Turn off all lane assist / acc stuff

Hi

I am thinking of a golf 8 and on the test drive the lane assist really annoyed me. Can you turn all this stuff off permanently or must you turn it off each time you start?

You can turn off everything except the lane assist which defaults to on each time you start up. It is easy enough to turn off when you forget to do it before moving off however. It wasn't so bad initially but now seems to have got much more aggresive, I presume through a software update delivered OTA.
