Wiper Blades

Can anyone recommend replacement wiper blades that don’t make an annoying squeak after about 2 months of use. I’ve tried VW - expensive and Bosch from Halfords - less expensive as well.

Granted I don't have a mk8 but Bosch icons never squeak for any of my other cars

I'm using Bosch on mine and they're silent

Try some RainX, for one, going at any speed the water sheets off and you don't need to use the wipers, so less wear and tear on the wipers and better visibility, also it makes the glass smooth so the wipers stop squeaking.

Also if the wipers seem to wear out quickly it can because they are not sitting correctly on the glass and may need adjusting.

My mk8 was 6 months old with 7000 miles on it when I got it, I put Bosch wipers on it the day I took it home, at 3 years old I’ve now done 32000 miles and they are silent and as good as new, so much so, that I will be removing them and putting them on my 8.5 GTI when it finally arrives.

I do tend to throw a few glass cleaning products at my screen when i change blades. Claying the glass is good for removing bonded contaminants. I usually finish with Auto Glym glass polish too.

When I’ve changed the OEM wiper blades in the past, I’ve gone for Bosch Aerotwins and I’ve found them to be very good; quiet in operation and no judder.

@ah184; do some online research and there’s a very good chance you’ll find cheaper sellers than VW and Halfords for Bosch wiper blades .

I got my Bosch wipers from Eurocarparts using a discount code, they were just under £20 for the front pair, be aware however, that eBay especially, is full of counterfeit Bosch wipers, be careful unless buying from the eBay store of a well known chain, or Bosch themselves.

The rear one for my 2023 Golf 8 is only 10" long so A252H seems to be the appropriate part number.
