Cool Spied: Golf MK8 Interior Gets High Tech Overhaul!

The MK8 VW Golf interior was just spied completely undisguised, and it shows a high tech overhaul!

Inside we can see that the Golf gets an all-new interior, and it appears to have ditched nearly every physical button for capacitive touch. The HVAC appears to be controlled by capacitive touch located underneath the navigation unit, and some additional touch buttons that surround the hazard light button. Looking at the gauge cluster, we can see that it receives a fully digital instrument cluster.

Up front we can see the true shape of the headlights, which no longer feature a simple rectangular shape like almost every VW today. Instead, the unit shrinks around the high beams and has a pinch towards the back. It's bold for a Volkswagen and appears too small to ever allow for a basic halogen bulb.

Built on a revised version of the MQB platform, the new Golf will be powered by a combination of familiar and new engines. The 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI should form the bulk of its sales, though from what we understand, the 2.0 TDI will still be around. VW put a lot of work into developing a mild-hybrid assistance system to lower emissions further.

Rumors have speculated about a new base TDI, a 1.5-liter unit built using the TSI's architecture. The displacement has not been confirmed but falls in line with changes made by both Peugeot and Ford.

Wow the steering wheel looks fantastic,
I always thought mk7 gti steering wheel was a step down from mk6 gti

This seems like the non gti (golf) steering wheel but looks like the best one yet

I'll hold my comments till the camo comes off and we see some more production ready images.
But so far...I'm not too sure about this one.

At this point I'm thinking I may just want to buy the final year of the 7.5 hah.

Audi instrument technology undoubtedly will play a large part in the Mk 8 interior gauges. Audi is the definitely leader in super attractive and easily used/advanced instrument clusters.
