The time has come, it's been 4 years since the last world cup and I can't believe this thread doesn't exist yet.

Lets discuss predictions and current games.

First game kickoff starts 1pm PST, Brazil vs Croatia from Group 1.

Also for anyone that will be stuck at work like I am, I found an iPhone app that will be providing play by play live in real time. I'm not sure if they have it for Android but it's called: "World Cup"

It's just called "world cup" I'm sure there are a lot of them out there, just make sure it provides a live play by play feed in real time.

Doubt it mate. They always choke.
plenty of talent but they never seem to be able to string together a run of good performances. :(
Its hard to look past The south American teams. Brazil, Argentina or Urugauy.

The climate is gonna be a big factor for the European nations.
Spain and Portugal will be most used to the conditions.
Although as an English man once said...
Football is a simple game, twenty two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end the Germans win :laugh:

I downloaded that app earlier today. Definitely handy at work as time creeks by. I'd like to see Germany tear it up. But then again I said the NY Rangers were going to win the Stanley Cup, not looking too promising there.
