I work in supply chain, the inflation hits immediately to the manufacturing.
There are a ton of factors at play in this. Our current administration is not doing favors in regards to this. We are in emergency mode as a country, but it seems like one side would like to "re-invest" your tax dollars into new infrastructure, meanwhile many American factories are hardly keeping doors open...if they can find the employees.
It's stupid to blame this entirely on Trump. It's also dumb to blame this on Biden. But I can blame Biden for not doing enough.
Then again, I don't expect a senile, geriatric "President" to make the best business decisions for our failing country.
So corporations should pay no taxes to use our countries educated workers, roads, ports, airports, court system, etc....?
And if we don't give them a free ride, then we forced them to leave?
Straight up Stockholm syndrome.
Pure greed led them to leave. Profit margins have doubled over the same period.
And what does wearing a mask have to do with anything?
I hate both, but gearheads and car guys ironically seem to be Bidenites so it’s more fun to poke at him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Meow meow. Meow Meow Meow Meow, Meow Meow. Meow Meow Meow. Meow. Meow Meow Meow Meow. It's the fault of whatever politician is opposite my tribe because it's much simpler to blame a person/party rather than take the time to understand both parties have allowed corporate tax rates, infrastructure, education, etc to be where they currently are. Meow meow meow. Meow meow. Meow meow meow meow meow.
Used car prices do be crazy though. Good point OP.

You say capitalist country like the administration is unable to influence our economy. When we are dependent on other countries for our integral components to create home-made products, we're in for a hurting. Especially when the main country of supply for semi's....view us as a threat/ future opponent. What do you want the president to do to fix supply chain issues in a capitalist country?
Everything was Bush, Obama and Trump’s fault when in office and it was the universally accepted paradigm. Why is anything so different with this Resident? What do you want the president to do to fix supply chain issues in a capitalist country?

The government acts as a blunt tool, to push business the right direction. It's not meant as a tool of precision (why socialism and communism wont work). Some of the dull tools that our democratic republic of a government can use are:
1) subsidies to incentivize business decisions that impacts our ability to create GDP
2) impose market regulations to further influence business decisions, especially when pertaining to staying domestic versus moving HQ abroad.
Now, if you're asking what the short term solutions is to this mess... I don't know. But I do have an opinion like everyone else. Control the thing we can control: drill our own gas, less reliance from foreign nations, etc. Not only will this impact the now, it'll also impact us for when the next Chinese influenced pandemic hits. (sarcasm on the last part.)
