I strongly disagree. While the 'right' may have high follow and engagement, it's because they are pushing for sanity while the 'left' is embracing insanity. The left are allowed to get away with murder on social media, they never get banned which why you don't hear about it. The right make a big deal because it's a double-standard, and a violation of the 1st Amendment.
That's not relevant because if the algorithm was designed to subvert their ideas then they wouldn't have such high engagement rates. The left does get banned, I've introduced studies and facts to support this but of course, it gets ignored. If you want a high-profile example - the account that posted the video of the Covington kid was banned for manipulating that video and spreading fake news. So yes, it goes both ways.
It's the same thing with the BLM crowd though. It's never headline news when a cop wrongfully shoots a white suspect. It only becomes news when it happens to someone black, effectively warping public perception. And once you convince someone they're marginalized there's no turning them back. Facts and statistics that clearly refute their argument are irrelevant to them.
Again and again, we see the same mentality between the left and right, the only thing that changes is what they're triggered by.
