Update! My friend got a call from the lawyer handling this and he is getting his rig back! Looks like DHS was wrong and now must return it. The bummer part is he had to take time off work and get questioned like a criminal by some government dick. What a waste of his time and my tax dollars.

He didn't buy it from the importer he bought it from another private seller.

So the back story is this guy Aaron Richardet was running an import gig. He was shipping in newer rovers made in 2000. He was then putting older vins on them to take advantage of the 25yr and older rule for importing vehicles. Needless to say all the current owners are getting there defenders...
