crack in moonroof surround

Crack in front right corner of moonroof surround. Don't think it was there yesterday before I hit a pretty jarring pothole which I'm guessing might have played a role. Hate to think what this will cost to fix. I suppose water will leak in there if I don't seal it for now with something. Any others experience this or similar? 2017 GTI SE manual.

On our high mile car the surround is cracked all the way across in the front left and front right positions. It's a common problem, but it's only cosmetic - it won't leak inside the car (those peaks come from cracks in the inset plastic sunroof frame). The whole sunroof design and plastic quality is poor on these cars.

You can get a new surround, it's basically just hot glued on - but removing the old one and the glue may be a pain.
