MK6 GTI 2011, 300,000KM
The car struggles to enter reverse, you can hear the gears jumping. I have to either give it a bit of gas or hope it goes into the gear, if it fails to do so after 3 clanks, It enters Limp mode and car needs to be switched off and on again.
I've been struggling to determine whether this means i need a new mechatronic unit or clutch plates, Every drive gear works fine and the car shifts perfectly, its only when entering the reverse gear or park gear from drive.
if i were to restart the car then enter reverse it works fine.
I get the code P2711 unexpected mechanical gear disengagement.
Would this be related to the mechs unit or the clutch?
