How about this, let's take the total COVID deaths for the entire month in South Dakota, a sparsely populated, mostly white, mostly rural state, like Vermont, that is more unvaccinated. No, but those are some big things you're overlooking. And the de-segregation happened under Eisenhower, not during the Civil War. You know why Black people started voting democrat? Because during the presidential election of 1960, when MLK was in jail in Georgia. Kennedy spoke with then-governor Vandiver and agreed not to de-segregate schools the way Eisenhower did. Nobody remembers that part, and it was downplayed. MLK was released from jail and publicly made a statement thanking Kennedy.

Ever since, the democratic party has been the party of soft biggotry. I've heard the Southern strategy argument before, but there's not a lot of evidence for it (if any). Democrats like to talk about demographic changes and how the party adapts, but when it happens with the right, it must be because racism.
