This. Mahomes didnt have time to throw crisp passes like brady. They all were slow and floppy and hard to catch. I'm surprised there were not more picks.

Even some of the crazy throws under pressure were actually on target.

Tyreek Hill got hit in the face with a ball that would have been a touch down in the first half. At the end of the game a Chiefs running back was also hit in the face by a wild but still somehow catchable ball.

Andy Reid/Bienemy didn't take what the defense was giving which was runs up the gut. Before the game got out of hand if the Chiefs had been more balanced with runs they could have drawn those safeties up closer to the line of scrimmage and then started going downfield once the defense has to play honestly against the run.

They just kept using the exact same looks and once the score became lopsided they had to throw. Obviously horrific line play by the Chiefs is the number 1 reason they lost(their D line was laughably bad as well) but Andy Reid just depended on Mahomes magic to win and he didn't have any yesterday. Terrible game plan and even worse execution.

KC was missing their 2 starting offensive tackles also.

The starting left tackle blew his Achilles against Buffalo

The right tackle then moved to left tackle and a guard moved to right tackle.

Knowing you can't pass protect and trying over and over to throw deep isn't smart football.

They mostly started to throw deep once they were behind. They weren't having any success throwing short early in the game either.

Kelce had over 100 yards receiving. Over the middle was working pretty nice but every good play was canceled out by immediate blunders.

They got behind because their defense is soft and they couldn't control the clock on offense because they wouldn't commit to the run.

Best way to keep a bad defense off the field is to hold the ball yourself. They barely tried to run, at one point Mahomes was like 4-15 for 30 yards and they still refused to change the game plan and go run heavy.

Tampa's defense is only good if their front 4 gets to you without blitzing. Their defense isn't actually that good, they got torched numerous times during the season including for 200 yards in one quarter by Mahomes and Hill.

The Chiefs refused to accept that they weren't going to be able to shoot it out with the Bucs so they should have tried to control the clock.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20 but once the Chiefs saw what the Bucs were doing they should have tried to counter by running but instead they just kept throwing downfield.

Ever heard of a screen play?(rhetorical question)
