Thanks to TTr250 for the following excellent writeup!

well i'm going to try and help out the text with a little diy..
i couldnt stand the yellow hue of the factor bulbs in the fogs lights so i wanted a good replacement. I decided to go with silverstar light bulbs. the fog like bulbs are 9006's. i had the silver stars in my jetta mk4's headlights and i thought they were great, especially for the price. i got both of them for 45 bucks.

this is the light output of the stock bulbs

so here we go.
first locate the open honeycomb where there is screw that holds the grill in.

unscrew and pull

i found it is easiest to pull this way. and back towards myself

now locate the three screws that hold the housing in place and unscrew

now that the housing is free place ur screw driving lightly into harness to unsnap

twist blub out and here is what u will have

get new blub and put in place

reconnect the harness by snapping it back into place

i choose to place all 3 screws in lightly, hold in place that i wanted the housing and tighten. **make sure u dont tighten to much, it can cause damage**

to replace grill start it like this

the new light output..sorry i dont have any at night yet.

A subtle difference at much, pics would be better at night.

Are there any kits for HID fogs avail. yet?

Also, to me, the easiest way was instead of taking out the housing itself, is just reaching around behind it and unscrewing it. Also, you don't need a screwdriver to release the bulb, just your fingers.

OOOO. Also, you can change these to HID bulbs too. Best to get 3000K bulbs.

i've replaced my fog lights with red ones, tho they look kinda pinkish.
but people still think they're cool.
there is an easier way to do it, provided your kinda skinny, like me.
just remove the black vent cover and wiggle your hand behind the fog light housing and its only a matter of twisting the fog light unit out and pulling the light and. this makes it alot easier to replace the bulb. no need to unscrew the whole assembly.

Wow, this thread is old. Raphael, your's are probably torx because you have a 2007. Cause you saw mine. And mine have the philips screw heads and it's an 06. That is a decent writeup too.

just did this with HOEN 9600ks, look FANTASTIC!

thanks for the write up ;)

Which ones are those?

Since you asked for pictures, here's mine with the Hoen Xenonmatch (CW GTI). Raphael's BMP has the Hoen Endurance foglights. Sorry OP for taking over your thread.
