These are 8.5" wheels so everything fits nice. Very impressive tires for an all season, I'm shocked.Nice 245, how they fitting on the inside? Whats the width if the wheels?

My first car was a 1979 Trans Am. Black and gold like Smokey and The Bandit. It looked and sounded awesome, but wasn't as fast as it looked. I loved it though.
Ah, 1979, the middle of the "smog era". Imagine your monster V8 in your awesome Trans Am putting out this kind of hp, while getting HORRENDOUS gas mileage...
The net result of the effort was a rating of 220 hp at 4,000 rpm and 320 lb/ft of torque at 2,800 rpm. Backing every T/A 6.6 engine throughout the '79 model year was an 11-inch clutch disc and pressure-plate assembly, and a Borg-Warner Super T10 four-speed manual transmission with a first-gear ratio of 2.43:1.
Do you have bumpstops? I have the same problem. I dont have bumpstops on mine and I get noise when going over good bumps. I also got an issue with the sway bar bushing making noise when taking a ramp at an angle at times or hit a turn hard. Sometimes the B8s make noise in the rear and it gets me worried sometimes that I need to install some bumpstops. I dont wanna damage the rear shocks.Installed B8’s in the rear (front at a later date) as well as the subframe harmonic damper. I get loud clunking from both sides when I go over a manhole/pothole/crack. I don’t think I tightened the top nut enough; watched ShopDAP’s video and they just hit it with a impact (which I don’t have). Bought a set of PowerTorque.View attachment 188532View attachment 188533[/URL]
Ya I reused the bump stops. I’ve been running on EMD springs with stock shocks for a while and have not had any issues/noises. I will tighten the top shock nut hopefully today or tomorrow and hopefully this will resolve it. I’m guessing that the shock hits the body on rebound because the nut is not compressed a little.Do you have bumpstops? I have the same problem. Yes, I only installed the rears. I have all new OEM mounting hardware/bolts for the fronts.Did you reuse your stock top mounts?
Thats funny. My mechanic said the stock bump stops didnt fit on the b8s for the rear. So he didnt put themYa I reused the bump stops. I also put in EMD spring pads and the instructions say it goes in between the body and stock rubber pad. Shouldn’t cause noise.... ?
