How do you guys feel about them?

I may test drive one for funsies. I just went stage 1 and I'm enjoying the Mark 6, just thought a test drive might be fun.

I heard they were less boaty than they used to be

Holy shit you're local? When you go drive a stock one I'll let you take mine for a spin. Like I said in the PM, the stock suspension is made of wet noodles for springs and a water filled condoms for shocks. Puts up great numbers but will feel like you're inside of a retarded whale. It is true though, they are less boaty than an actual boat.

A 5.0 is fairly likely to be my next car. Maybe I can buy one that already has suspension upgrades

If you test drive one you will buy one as evidence by Andy.

I might drive one Monday. I might not though. I don't need a new car and especially don't need the payment. Maybe in a year when I can get a '12 for really cheap.

I want a manual Gotta Have It Green 5.0 with track pack and all the domestic rice stuff.

I had a 2006 Mehstang GT that I dumped in December 2011 for a 2012 WRX. Then in October 2013 I traded the WRX in on the 2013 GTI because my left knee was bothering me.

I already have my eye on a 2015 Golf R but will test drive the 2015 Mustang GT for giggles. Then again, realistically, I'll wait until the 2016 model year before I would purchase a new model vehicle. I prefer to let someone else find all the manufacturer's flaws instead of me being the beta tester for the new model!

Also, I'm trying to break the cycle of owning a Ford product every 10 model years though. I purchased a 1996 Thunderbird when I graduated from college in 1996 then I purchased the used 2006 Mehstang GT after a drunk driver totaled my 2007 6MT Accord. If my car history proves correct, I'll probably purchase a 2016 Mehstang GT, IF I like it.

As for the outgoing model, the S197 platforms had some fundamental issues that I would rather not deal with. Unless Ford improved the front ball joints, strut mounts, and rear lower control arms in the later models, I wouldn't even consider one. Then again, life is too short to own the same model of car twice, so that alone would be a detractor for me purchasing the outgoing model.

Now with all that written, the 5.0 S197 Mustang is a beast compared to my 4.6 powered one! I just couldn't get past not knowing if the other weaknesses of the S197 platform had been addressed or not.
