Anyone Ever Run Across a Golf "El Camino"?

Doesn't seem like it would be too hard for someone to make one if they know what they're doing.

I just returned from Mexico and saw plenty of home built Mark II and Mark III home built Golf El Caminos.

Over here in UK we got the MK1 Caddy "Sport" late on in the MK1 Caddy life (basically years 1990 to 92)

https://www.barons-auctions.com/vie...-auctions-1992-vw-18-sport-caddy-18-injection

Basically the 1.8lt 8v GTI engine & other GTI bits fitted..

But GTI Engineering (UK tuner) offered a rare 1.8lt GTI conversion upgrade package far earlier ...

Picture is a screen shot of the info from the above link.invoice dated 1986..

Could be done to a GSW say with awd (Alltrack/R)......nice cut line using the existing crease running the length of car...

& GTI Engineering was started by Richard Lloyd & he ended up running VW racing dept as he was based just down the road from VW UK HQ

I used to see a converted Jetta VR6 on my commute. That guys was always hauling ass. Pretty funky.
