Nearly perfect car but SMG. I can pick up nice SMG cars here for 20-22k
I'm scurred of that transmission after 50k miles, it seems like this is what they need before 80/90k miles

Red looks good on those cars. 5 previous owners does not.
Are the E9x M3's reliable at all? From what I heard they are more reliable than the N54/55 motors but just about anything would be more reliable than those.

Aside from a few motors that blew up due to random issues they are reliable. But they are still pretty new my main concern would be vanos system. It is notoriously complicated and expensive to fix on any BMW with over 100k

yeah, so far i haven't heard any bad news about the S65; as m3post forum members label it "bullet proof" but barely any of them have >100k miles...
the m3's have double vanos but i have no experience with the m3 system; with my n52 i just kept them clean (fairly easy)
