Catch Can install issue

I'm new to modding and want to install a catch can the only issue i'm having is that my MK6 has a hose mounted to the engine mount where catch cans are normally mounted at. Does anyone know what this hose is for and if there is a way to mount both? I've only found a few images of the hose online and no videos whatsoever. The only reason I was wanting a catch can is my pcv went out and I didn't want to replace it with another one because I've heard they are prone to failing.
