Is there a difference between mk5 rabbit or gti in springs? like are they 1 make for both or are they different bc of weight issues? Im liking the HR springs that i see on some GTI's but idk if it will look as good on the rabbit

I'm running KoniFSD's with Eibach Pro-Kit (and Eibach anti-roll bars) on 18" alloys and the ride is firm but not harsh.

can some1 tell me why the eibach pro kit wont require new shocks? as opposed to running anything else that may in the long run damage the stock ones.

quoted from Kayne "The only spring I can think of that probably won't require new shocks is Eibach prokit."

not really lookin to take the car to the track just want a firmer and lower ride

cheers

In the USA, VW raised the ride height to get a better side impact score. The rise was .6 inch (about 15mm). The Eibach Pro Kit springs lower the car 1.2 inches (about 30mm) which is slightly lower than Euro-spec. Since this is not a drastic lowering it is felt that the Pro-Kits can be used with the stock shocks without problems.

My buddy was asking me about this the other day as this is the exact combo I am running on my GLI now.

Really depends on what you're looking for. Just springs? H&R Race springs lower the car about 2 inches I think. I've heard of some people running race springs with the stock struts, but that's risky in my opinion. As it stands, people (myself in the future included) are risking it with the H&R Sport springs and stock shocks. What kind of conditions are you driving in? Snow, sleet, ice? Also, how are the roads around you? If they're pretty bad, then you may not want to go lower than an inch and a half (H&R Sports are 1.5 front 1.2 rear). Finally, if you have any step driveway entrances or anything, you've got to worry about bottoming out. Depending on how much money you have, your best best is a set of coilovers. They will run you more than a grand though. Coilovers are basically springs and adjustable struts. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to make sure I had you covered in everything. There's more spring companies out there such as Eibach and Neuspeed, but I'm biased towards H&R it seems and that's what I will be getting soon enough.:headbang: Hope that helps.
Everbody thinks that cause they are called race springs that means they are lower not true. They have the same drop as the sports they are just firmer. Super sports are the lowest H&R springs.Lowest isnt always best in the handleing department no suspension travel.

Yeah, I realize that now. I made that post back in January and have learned a lot since.
