Nav system is good
I have an 06 GTI. The navi is pretty good. I have a TomTom in my other car.
I admi after working with the TomTom I found the VW system a little crude. I kept trying to touch the screen (tom tom had touch screen).
After a week, I was proficient at the VW menus.
I Do notice that once in a great while the voice prompt differs from what the display shows.
i.e. Voice says "turn left" while the graphic on the map shows the route turns right.
Overall very good. I guess I feel good about it becuase I got my 06 with 5k miles and $5k off sticker so I didn;t really pay the $1800 for the Navi.
My biggest complaint and this is unforgivable--very very very poor iPod integration.
Major oversite by VW. i would wager that 98% of GTI owners also own an iPod.
Navi screen should display iPod menu plus have steering wheel menu controls.
