I think you'll have a hard time finding a Turbo S for under $65k.
993's have started to appreciate, Turbo's are in the $60-100k range, C4S's are in the $40-70k range.
The only 996+ I would consider are the Turbo or GT3, however, GT3's are pricey and the 996 Turbo is still saddled with the crap interior of all the other 996's. The other water-cooled cars are ticking time bombs.
It have to be one of the following three vehicles:
1. Buick Grand National
2. GMC Typhoon suv
3. '91 Mitsubishi Galant VR4
All torn down & motor rebuilt and suspension upgrade....with a GT35R turbo. Yeah, I love boosted cars/trucks.
The MT was apparently a POS on the last gen. It was super hard to get and they had to limit the power of the engine in order not to damage it at certain speeds etc.
Since $65k isn't quite enough for a GT-R and a good winter beater around here...off the top of my head I'd say a '07+ Boxster S and a Rubicon. I know I could do better than a Boxster, but I've got a bit of a childhood fixation on those cars...
