If I ever buy one of these engines im fixing the thrust washer before its going into the car!
So how do you fix it without cutting like the dude in the other thread did?If I ever buy one of these engines im fixing the thrust washer before its going into the car!
Cutting is only required if you don't remove the transmission. If you're replacing the clutch you'll have access to the bolts so no cutting is needed. So how do you fix it without cutting like the dude in the other thread did?
So I could have a shop do this when I have the clutch replaced?Cutting is only required if you don't remove the transmission. If you're replacing the clutch you'll have access to the bolts so no cutting is needed.
In theory yes, but you'd have to send the main bearing cap in (in a thread somewhere is info on it) to be machined for the new thrust washer set.So I could have a shop do this when I have the clutch replaced?
Could I buy new caps and have them machined ahead of time?In theory yes, but you'd have to send the main bearing cap in (in a thread somewhere is info on it) to be machined for the new thrust washer set.
No you cant just change maincaps, they need to be align bored in the block.Could I buy new caps and have them machined ahead of time?

These still have the markings on them. Got 3 of them for ~$56 shipped. We’ll see if they work.
