Infotainment Hardware and Software Updates

Yes the dealer had to do it. The TPI was updated last tuesday, and the dealer had my car registered for this TPI, so that when a solution came, there would be an alarm in their system and they would contact me immediately. Very thoughtful of them to be honest. Anyway, the update is so fresh that it’s possible even Massimo didn’t know about it up until now.

No, it is not an OTA update, maybe because not everyone has this issue. Just give your dealer a call, and tell them about the TPI, and that you want it fixed. They should be able to fix it within half an hour.
Hi, can you share your software/hardware version please? Do you also have some service record in written form where the work/repair is described? Thanks.

So I found this tpi number 2067824/2 (05/June/2023):
Problem:
When lightly braking and with a gear change from 4th to 3rd gear at a speed of about 30 km/h a jerk is noticeable.
Only for ECU part number 05E906012K or 05E906012B.

The solution is a software update:
Part Number Old SW New SW
05E906012K 1227 3037
05E906012B 9974 9976
Hi, where can I find ECU version? Only for ECU part number 05E906012K or 05E906012B. thanks.

I've been told that it's my entire infotainment and ocu (not sure if two separate parts) that are going to be replaced to try and fix my long long standing broken navigation/ACC. I can't say I'm completely convinced it'll work, but since it'll likely be the faster hardware, I'll take the free upgrade (at least I assume it's free, the car is over 3 years old now but the problem started with the 1899 update last year)! If that does work, and the ecu update resolves the jerkiness, then I might be able to finally say the car is finished!

Hi all,

I'm an owner of a brand new Skoda Octavia NX - 1.5TSI DSG E-TEC(mild-Hybrid) from 01.08.2022. The car was great(with only minor software gremlins) until ~ 2 seeks ago with 2 OTA updates have been delivered: one with "Error Fixes" + another one with "Service Campaigns". After a few days after, the problems with infotainment reboots just started to manifest(in 1-2minutes after staring/moving the car), in one day I had 4 reboots in a row, and for another guy from my area the screen remained completely black for the rest of his journey. The software version running on our MIB3 unit is post 1896 version (1899, 1900).
More details in our related community: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/top...-system-restarting-endlessly/page/8/#comments
Does someone else from this community reporting this kind of problems with a sort of regularity?

Infotainment Software Updates
For all the cars that have been delivered from the factory the SW train is: VW.
If the cars has received a major update change via the dealer, the SW train will be changed to: SK.QQ: Will we be able to update our units with any kind of software afterwards?
e.g. Someone with SW version MOI3_EU_SK_R8960L(1896) can process an update directly to MOI3_EU_VW_R9410L(1941)?!

Thank you all for your support and contribution.

The My24 Golf 8 (Build date 19-06-2023) will have the following infotainment part numbers:
Discovery Media: 5H0035820P or 5H0035820Q
Discovery Pro: 5H0035816P or 5H0035816Q.
Should come with the 1941 software installed from factory.
The display remains the same from previous Golf 8.

Thanks Massimo,
Was the 19th the cutover date from MY23 to MY24? Do you know any other differences between the two builds?

I just received a call from my dealer. He said that indeed there is an update to fix the braking issue. I will be having the update installed on the 26th.
