Unfortunately this doesn't help me much. It seems pretty impossible to get to with any sort of tool. I have a trim tool with a little hook on it but this doesn't really say HOW to use the tool to disengage the attachment... Got it! You gotta start at one of the edges and get a hook hooked around it, then pull really hard. Then it just kinda of snaps out. Putting it back together ain't super easy, but doable if you recline the seat back most the way.
(Basically, I just added an extra foam piece between the seat cushion and lumbar bar. (That gray textured piece). It's about 1/2" thick and pretty firm. Adds lumbar right where I need it, a little lower from the stock positioning.
